That’s all I have to say.
One thing I love about pregnancy is it is so individual. If you asked 100 woman to tell them how they handled pregnancy, you’d get 100 different answers. It fascinates me, really.
I am one who feels so nauseous, but never actually loses her cookies. There are many times I’m wishing I could, though.
Enough of the gory details.
I made some decisions before I even got pregnant and I’m going to stick to them:
1. I will exercise regularly throughout my pregnancy (This has never been a problem in the past three pregnancies).
2. I will eat as healthy as I can throughout this pregnancy (This has been a HUGE problem in the past. Like 70 pounds huge.).
So far so good.
In most of my previous Eat With Me Posts, I have counted calories. Being pregnant, THERE IS JUST NO WAY. That would be the absolutely cruelest thing one could do to a pregnant woman. That and have her wear a unitard. Right now, my goal is survival. That is it. Getting through the day.
Another change to the Eat With Me posts, I am not tracking my calories burned during my workouts. Right now, I KNOW I’m not even close to the calories I used to burn. If I wear my heart rate monitor, it would be like taking a bat and beating myself over the head. I’m not into self-destruction, so I’m only going by how I feel during my workouts. I’m still lifting 3 times a week and doing cardio daily — however already my workouts have been modified greatly due to my nausea.
A few more changes:
I am having to eat more often, sometimes every two hours.
I am still downing the water, but have to pace myself instead of chugging it like I used to.
I pretty much have to eat something in the middle of every night. Not due to hunger, but due to nausea. It drives me nuts.
If I think, smell, or see chocolate or something sweet I want to curl up in the fetal position and moan. Don’t even do it to me.
I am craving rich, comfort foods like nobody’s business. Can anyone say Mac n’ Cheese?
I do plan on doing regular EWM posts throughout this pregnancy. Right now, there’s not much variety — I’m pretty much eating the same thing every day.
Let’s just say we’re having a lot of scrambled eggs for dinner lately.
Only 283 days to go (the Doc is the official counter).
